About me

The peripatetic beginnings and resilience in Daniel’s story crafted him into a sympathetic and assiduous person capable of integrating into any environment.

Hidden in the night, a group of refugees is being guided through a desert on camelback, escaping the small war-torn country of Eritrea and entering Sudan. Sitting on one of the camels is a pregnant woman and her husband, envisioning the life ahead with great optimism. Sudan was only a rest stop for this couple; the next location was Saudi Arabia, where Daniel was born and then, 2 years later, his sister. Not long after the sister’s birth, the family flew to Kenya after hearing information about immigration pathways to the United States for asylum seekers. The information provided to the family proved to be true. After living in Kenya for less than a year, the family was already traveling again, this time to the United States. Through courage and perseverance, the family reached their destination, a safer place where the children could be given better opportunities to succeed. Daniel never forgets his parent’s sacrifices and the challenges that they had overcome for the betterment of his and his sister’s life. He uses their experiences as motivational fuel in achieving his goals.
